Snow makes for CUTE PHOTOS

Last year for Christmas; I received a wonderful and thoughtful gift....a Canon Rebel camera.
I love it. I'm still learning to use it, for Christmas THIS year Santa brought a super cool zoom lens...(which I also have to learn how to use.)

I know that photographs are probably the most important part of any blog; and I am slowly working on redoing most (all) of the photos of my quilts so you can really see the colours and work involved on them. Here are some updates you can see on my Etsy page:

Sooo tired!

What a fun day!

The HBBA Show at the Timken Centre in St.Thomas was a happy day. I finished and displayed lots and lots of quilts, and met lots and lots of wonderful folks today! (And, re-met several people I hadn't seen in YEARS!) All in all, a great day. But I'm exhausted, and soon off to bed.

Today I heard a lot of people comment on how beautiful the quilts are, and how they wish they could find the time to quilt. I would smile and reply, Find the Time! It's so worth it. It really is. But...I also warned people...it's addictive! (It's not a hoard of fabric. It's a stash.Really. And I need it all.)  I love to quilt. Even when it's the most frustrating ... I love it. It's so peaceful, and I can focus on creating order out of chaos, one block at a time.:) So I say, Do it! Find the time, and face the challenge. You'll be so glad you did.

And if we were chatting today at my booth : YES I can do a Scooby-Doo quilt....YES I Can (hopefully) repair the quilts that I was asked about, but we'll have to see the state of affairs first....and  ..oh yes...I will be glad to make T-shirt memory quilts .....oh and to do the grunt work on the piecing together of the cut out blocks for the lady whose daughter is going away to school.

Some photos from today:

Circus Animal Quilt

This is a custom memory quilt made from baby clothes and blankets. A bit of a challenge, but it is awating quilting and binding..
Baby Clothes Memory Quilt

A custom order, new this week, so needs to be sandwiched, basted and quilted.
A custom order Rail Fence with creams and browns.

This colour block quilt is for me; I LOVED the colours of the fabric.I had a "Oooh" moment in the fabric store and it was almost painful to cut into this fabric (I know you know what I mean) but it came together with hot pink blender cotton that I love it even more now. I decided to make it bigger, queen bed sized, so adding more as I go.
Colour Block Quilt

Other quilts:
My Pink & Green Railfence: No progress
Misc quilt tops for store: Some extra blocks assembled, no real big woop progress this week.

That's it for now, I'm off to work. More quilting to be done later tonite!!!
Have a wonderful Wednesday, here in Elgin County the temps went back up nicely today!

Febby-yarry WIP Wednesday! Whee!

Whoa. Wasn't it Christmas, like, yesterday?????? I certainly had a big list of stuff to finish, and I'm proud to say, I *did* get nearly everything done. I know, insane. The King Size quilt nearly killed me. It certainly finished off my old machine. BUT ... there was nothing more warm & fuzzy than opening my email inbox on the 26th and reading thank yous from recipients of my quilts, and seeing the faces of the folks that I was with that day who got quilts. And other projects. Laugh. You know who you are and what you got. Heh.

I have to admit the urge to sew sew sew wasn't quite there for Jan. BUT...last night I sat down and started to sew.
And it all came back! I popped in a Muppets movie, and sewed to my little heart's content.

Here's my current WIP List:

Clean up the Cave Scrap Quilt - tidy edges, complete the top. WIP.
Purple String Quilt - finish making blocks,
My Rail Fence -  Needs to have a lot ripped out and redone. Le sigh.
Blue & Brown Baby Quilt - finish the binding.
5 other Baby Quilts - Don't ask. To be quilted and bound. Eventually for my Etsy shop.

Scrappy Clean up the Cave Quilt:
Blocks made, gonna do a few more today and lay them out, decide on sashing and go from there.

Piles of scrappy blocks. I did empty out TWO tupperware containers of scraps.

There is also a Purple String Quilt that I have on order that I am working on.  It's quite overdue; there was so much going on in my personal life I just didn't have energy or inspiration to work on it. I also realized that for some reason, if I don't really like the colours I'm working with, I have a hard time starting the quilt. But now it's coming right along; here is my second big WIP.

I have to make 48 blocks. I'm at 22.

And Oh before I forget. I found some great cookie recipes online this week; thank you Jennifer at Jcasa for "Those Cookies" and the Peppermint Melties from Flossie Teacakes  . I was in a baking mood; and here's what I did.
I made both recipes, (although, a full cap of the mint extract is WAY too much; use maybe half if you're using artificial) And then....inspiration struck; and...they came together in a pretty pink minty way!
I used store bought cream cheese icing that I tinted pink, and that was the 'glue' that held them together. These are a hit and I have to make more now!

So that's my WIP Wednesday. I might put more pics of the sashed blocks later if I get them done; but I need to work on the purple quilt first.

I hope you all have a wonderfully productive day,I shall leave you with a warm n fuzzy pic of my fatso catso enjoying one of my quilts on the couch in His Spot.
Buck the fat cat says, Happy Quilting!

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's WEDNESDAY!!!

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

It's WIP WEDNESDAY!

Okay! Time to get seriously focused here.

Projects to finish this week::

Finish quilting the Teenagers' P&G Quilt....this pic is just the top; I just have to finish quilting the sashing and bind it!

I have to cut these and start on my modified Hawaiian Sunset pattern. This will become TWO quilts; one king and one queen.
Both are for Christmas. Am I insane????

Last but not least...I have to finish tidying up this one and start quilting it. Not sure but I think I'll quilt just INSIDE the blocks cuz the shiny fabric might not work out to well with being quilted. I'll test it...but I'm pretty sure I'll leave the shiny bits be.

Alright! I'm off to the Quilt Cave to start my day! Enjoy your WIP Wednesday, may it be productive and FUN!
