Surrounding Myself with Inspiration - Grateful Series

So my sewing room is usually, um, messy.

Yeah.
I try super hard to stay organized, and mostly I am - but my space gets cluttered easily.

I have a window that looks out over the yard; but since it gets a lot of sun in the summer, I keep the blinds closed cuz it gets so hot.

So I surround myself with happy memories.

 Photos. Lots of 'em.

Little knick-knacks from my touring days.
I love to see my friends' and family's smiling faces watching me as I work.

What inspires you? What's on your walls?

Today... I am grateful for..... CATS!

Because sometimes, we just need some cute kitties in our life.

I'm biased. I think ours are super cute.

We have been fortunate to share our home with many different cats on their way through our lives to their furrever homes.

J and I volunteer with All Paws Rescue here in Brampton, if you'd like to donate or adopt!

Aw. I do love our Buddy. He's a foster and just got adopted!

This is Mr. Biggs. His face here. OMG this face.

This is Vamp; she's one of ours and loves to roooollllll

Buddy (Mr.Biggs) He truly is a Big Boy.

Zazi. At two years old, she's so tiny. She was a feral that we adopted.

Muffin, our mighty hunter.

This is Georgia; she's a current foster.

Lookit this sweet face.

The beautiful Indiana! She was a foster and was adopted out nearly immediately.

The gorgeous but cranky Clarabelle.

Today I am Grateful....for my garden

This week I'm all about my garden.
The front yard; early May.
After a few weeks.

I grew up in a small town and my parents always had a HUGE garden.
I never truly enjoyed yardwork as a child.

But now...I love it. It's so peaceful.

Vamp loves to help me dig in the dirt.
So I always make sure she's rewarded with her own patch of catnip!

Vamp returning from her rounds.

Supergrover keeps an eye on the rhubarb and bird feeders.

I have a small yard and this year I did a lot of research into small area and container gardening...and it's been working pretty well; the furry woodland creatures have been mostly leaving things alone and the plants are growing hardy and strong.

Portable pumpkin patch!
The backyard has a small plot of earth and this year, there's onions, zucchini, cucumber, thyme, parsley and sage.

No matter how hard the work, it's rewarding and wonderful to be able to grow your own food.
To dig into the warm earth and smell the loamy goodness.
To harvest onions and carrots and snip the fresh basil....mmm. Nothing better.

Punkins!

Zukes and Cukes!

Tomatoes, Lettuce, Spinach and Radishes

Corn and Taters!

I do love my Morning Glories.

Memes

I love the internet. Do you remember the world before the internet?
Seems so long ago....actually looking up information in books....at the library....or the dictionary...
....actually CALLING someone on the phone....

Anyway. I love the internet :) I love how it can really bring people together for (or against) a common cause.

And....I love the memes.

I regularly post a bunch on my Facebook page...check out the fun and add some of your own!

Mmm. Mr. Darcy.

I love Downton Abbey. I miss that show!

I really did LOL at this one.

One of my favourite movies of all time!

Aaaaand...we're done.
